Rhinoceros CLASSROOM Courses for Spring 2013

CTD 429 (55A) Intro to Rhino for the CAD Novice
This course is designed for those who are new to the Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience. Students will be introduced to the environment of Computer Aided Design and will be better able to decide whether they feel ready to move on to the regular Rhino courses or whether they feel the need for further experience with the computer and less demanding computer graphics applications.
This course is taught on the PC. It is advised that you have a PC version of Rhino to work on for home study and homework.

Rhino I
This first course will cover 2-D digital drawing/drafting. Class exercises will include mostly jewelry related material.
This course is taught on the PC. It is advised that you have a PC version of Rhino to work on for home study and homework.
Note: Satisfactory, on-time submissions of 3 homework assignments are required for a passing grade in this course. A passing grade is required as a prerequisite to taking Rhino II.

Rhino II
Prerequisite: passing grade for CTC-430 (Rhino I).
This course will build on Rhino modeling fundamentals. We will get into 3-D surface and solid modeling fundamentals. Class exercises will include mostly jewelry related material.
Note: Satisfactory, on-time submissions of 3 homework assignments are required for a passing grade in this course. A passing grade is required as a prerequisite to taking Rhino III.

Rhino III
Prerequisite: passing grade for CTC-431 (Rhino II).
In this course we will continue to focus on the creation of 3-D surfaces and solids. Students will continue to learn the creation, manipulation and editing of 3-D objects for the making of 3-D models. Class exercises will include mostly jewelry related material.
This course is taught on the PC. It is advised that you have a PC version of Rhino to work on for home study and homework.
Note: Satisfactory, on-time submissions of 3 homework assignments are required for a passing grade in this course.
